Virtually Date Ariane (aka ArianeB aka Ariane Barnes aka Ariane Brodie) has been upgraded to version 5.8. Going to the kitchen after dessert (and after the chance to play the spin the bottle game) will make ArianeB consider what options are still open. She will then propose one of these and the player may agree or disagree.

If you don’t like ArianeB’s proposal she will think of another one, and another,… until she runs out of ideas and the game has got no more options left… and there is a rather big chance she will kick you out if you don’t go along with one of them. The programmer, whose identity is still harder to find than Osama Bin Laden’s nice little grotto, has extended a few situations and created an entirely new one.

Although I have played ArianeB a couple of hundred times now I am still baffled by the complexity of the game and the different situations that are created, not randomly, but as a result of previous decisions.

Warning: ArianeB is an 18+ game containing some virtual nudity. To put it in other words: if your mommy, church or government forbids you to look at pixels that may give you the illusion of nude female flesh you are advised not to play this simulation and to contemplate your fate of chastity and boredom. I will not visit you in prison and if you do get there I recommend you never to pick up the soap!

1. Introduction

I suppose that you are either playing the online game or that you have a downloaded copy on your disk. If the previous is Chinese to you (except when you are from China, isn’t this global village getting on your nerves?) or you don’t know what or where to start I hereby invite you to start reading the very first walkthrough that is still valid for the 5 series: The ArianeB Chronicles.

Introduce yourself.
Compliment her outfit.
Say something smart.
Kiss her cheek.

Before ArianeB goes on she wants to know how old you are... choose 18 or over (otherwise the game will end).

Turn on some music.
Jazz.
Kiss her while dancing.
Stop kissing.
Change music or dance again.
Soft Rock.
Kiss her while dancing.
Stop kissing.
Dip and kiss her neck. Kissing her neck too soon in the game will stop every action, but here it is quite safe to do.
Stop necking.
Go back to the couch.

2. Steak Dinner

Go to another room.
Kitchen.
Get wine to drink. This will put ArianeB in a good mood.
Finish drink.
Get steaks for dinner. They are in the fridge.
Drink wine. This will put ArianeB in an even better mood. Do not overdo the wine intake or else ArianeB will be dead drunk.
Finish drink.
Wait for the steaks.
Eat steak dinner.
Compliment her.
Talk to her.
Drink wine.
Go somewhere else.

Go to the kitchen for dessert. You could play spin the bottle, but for the moment the chocolate cake is all we’re after…
Eat dessert then go somewhere else.

3.1 Cheesy Parcheesi

Go for a drive.
Go for a drive.
Go downtown.
Go to the nightclub.
Go to bar. I'd like a martini, dry
I’m driving so club soda please. Good, you`re not drinking. I'd love another martini though. Ignore her last remark and...
Ask her to dance. Oooh yeah! Shake it baby, S-S-shake it!
Keep dancing.
Punch the guy.
Retreat before a fight breaks out.
Get out of the club. There are several ways to go home and just to annoy the rest of the world I pick the lamest one…

Go to home décor store.
Look around.
Vote for the right one.
Keep looking.
Vote for the left one.
Keep looking.
Vote for the right one.
Buy it and take it home.
Continue at home.

Go to the kitchen. Here is where version 5.8 kicks in...

We have had fun so far. I have an idea for what we should do next:
I got some board games in one of these cabinets, why don`t we play a game?

Say: OK, let’s do that.
Play Parcheesi.
Continue playing.

The Parcheesi game will randomly continue until someone wins.

The Parcheesi scenario can be triggered with Ariane wearing her red blouse, her blue bikini and her black evening dress so the above is not the only way to get there.

The Parcheesi ending is completely new in 5.8. Other situations have been changed and/or altered a bit: one of these the basketball game. How to get to the basketball game is decribed in a previous walkthrough, but because I’m in a good mood I’ll put it here as well…

3.2 Bikini Basket

Originally the basket scene only existed in the red blouse variety (check out walkthrough Meet, Greet and Meat), but version 5.8 has a bikini basketball scene as well.

Go ahead with the basic introduction (point 1 above) and the steak dinner (point 2 above). Have your dessert in the kitchen and…

Go to the bedroom to put on a swimsuit.
Wait for her in the hallway.
Go to the backyard. It may sound stupid but once outside we decide to…
Go back inside.
Go to the kitchen.

ArianeB proposes the following: Let`s get in my car and go for a drive downtown.
Ask if she has other ideas.
How about we take a walk to the park and do something there?
Say: OK, let’s do that.
Wait for her to put her shoes on.
Follow her to the park.
Try a shot. To make the first shot you need to hit inside the rectangle, consult the screenshot here.
Her turn to shoot.
Let her shoot.
Take your shot. To make the second shot you need to hit the basketball backboard exactly where the red spot is located (of course the original images in the game don’t show this).
Her turn to shoot.
Defend the basket.
Take your shot. To make the 3 point jumper you need to hit the basketball backboard exactly where the red spot is located (of course the original images in the game don’t show this).
Finish game.

Go back to her place. Back in ArianeB’s house all is open for discussion, but if you enter the kitchen she will propose the following:
We could sit on the bench out back and look at tonight’s beautiful sky. You can agree or…
Ask if she has other ideas.
You have seen my pool. Let`s go swimming. You can agree or…
Ask if she has other ideas.
We could go enjoy a relaxing soak in the hot tub?
Ask if she has other ideas.

If you disagree again she is out of options. I think this is a bug, as she will normally kick you out the house if you keep on refusing. You can have an extra drink (not a very good idea) or visit the rest of the house…

3.2.1 Basketball Patch (Download)

To win the basket challenge you have to hit the board at an exact (small) spot. Although winning or loosing has no further effect on the rest of the adventure I have created a basketball patch to make it easier not to miss.

A zipped file containing these hotspot locations can be downloaded here - if you replace the files in the /datingsimulator/images folder with the altered images you will never miss. (This patch also contains some images to win the stargazing contest.)

3.3 Monkey Business

Let’s get to the third new possibility in version 5.8. This is a variation on the gymnastic demonstration that has been described in Meet, Greet and Meat.

Say hello (chapter 1), have the steak dinner but SKIP the dessert in the kitchen after lunch (chapter 2)…

Go to the bedroom to put on a swimsuit.
Follow her into the bedroom.
Let her finish.
Go to the backyard.
Go swimming.
Jump in with her.
Swim some more.
Let’s get out of the pool.
Follow her out of the pool.
Go back inside.
Take a shower.
Follow her into the bathroom.
Wait for her to get out.
Take a shower.
Get dressed and go for a drive.
Follow her into the bedroom. The important thing is that she will not put on any underwear 8-)))
Let her finish dressing.
Go downtown.
Go downtown. Basically we have the same situation now as in the Parcheesi scenario, only this time ArianeB is wearing her black dress.
Go to the nightclub.
Go to bar. I'd like a martini, dry.

Protect Ariane.
Get her away from this guy.
Get out of the club. There are several ways to go home, here is another one…

Go to the art museum.
ArianeB will show you three paintings. The possible answers are: Bougereau - Cubism - Durer - Rembrandt - Renoir -Van Gogh.
Start tour.

Go back to her place.
Get liquor from kitchen. A small bug in the text as ArianeB will be holding a wine glass.
How about we take a walk to the park and do something there?
Say, OK let’s do that.
Wait for her to put her shoes on.
Follow her to the park. The girl on a swing scenario will proceed as has been described before, only now in a black dress. The black dress scenario contains a nice surprise though.

Take the other swing.
Done swinging.
Climb on top and hang upside down.
Ask her to show her gymnastic skills.
Tell her she is doing well anyways.
I don’t mind at all.
Wow! That is pretty good.
Applaud.
Follow her back to her place.

3.4 Moon at night

Why don't we end with the stargazing quiz?

Go to the backyard.
Sit and look at the stars.

ArianeB will ask you to point some interstellar objects for her. The stargazing quiz has been described in a previous walkthrough (Fast Food, Fast Games, Fast Girls...) but you don't need to read that again if you have downloaded the ArianeB basketball patch.
